Permanent Lighting in Rensselaer and Nearby Towns

We install permanent roofline lighting on homes in Rensselaer and the towns around it. Every visit starts with a close look at your fascia, gutters and power source, so the track, wiring and controller suit your house before a single light goes up.

Towns We Cover Around Rensselaer

Our base is Rensselaer, and most of our work happens within a short drive on either side of the Hudson. On the east side that means East Greenbush, North Greenbush, Hampton Manor, Wynantskill and Troy. Across the river we work in Albany, Menands, Watervliet, Loudonville and Roessleville. If your street sits just outside those towns, ask on the call and we will tell you plainly whether we can reach you.

The process is the same in every town. We walk the roofline, check what the track will mount to, find the nearest outdoor outlet or note where one is missing, and measure each run, including corners, peaks and garage returns. You get a written quote that shows the layout and the parts. The app-controlled system works the same on a narrow city lot in Troy as on a wider yard in North Greenbush: set colors, schedules and holiday scenes from your phone, all year.

What We Plan For Across the Capital Region

Housing age and trim
Homes here range from 19th-century brick and wood-frame houses to postwar capes and newer subdivisions. Older houses often have uneven fascia, layered trim or aluminum wrap over wood that has gone soft underneath. We probe the trim before mounting so every fastener bites into sound material. Track screwed into rot looks fine on day one and starts pulling away after a couple of winters.
Snow, ice and freeze-thaw
Winter is the real test for exterior lighting in this area. Ice building along gutters and eaves can pry a poorly anchored channel loose, and sliding snow scrapes anything mounted in its path. We place the track where it stays clear of the worst ice, seal connections against meltwater, and use LED fixtures rated for cold so the lights run year-round.
Power and permits
Most systems run low voltage from a power supply plugged into an outdoor GFCI outlet. If your house has no usable outlet near the roofline, a new receptacle may be needed, and that kind of electrical work generally falls under the local building department's permit and inspection rules. We point this out during the first visit so it is part of the plan and the schedule, not a surprise later.
HOA guidelines
Some subdivisions and townhome associations limit fixture placement, colors or lighting hours. Share your association's rules when you call, and we will design the layout and app schedule to stay inside them.
